School trials

A number of schools in Reading and Cornwall are trialling these resources in support of the national curriculum or as an energy and environmental project with the theme of Education for Sustainable Development. The initial evaluation by teachers and students has been very positive as can be seen by some of the student's reflections from year 8.

I think it is good that we know more now about renewables rather than in a few years time when fossil fuels run out

Life would not be the same as there would not be as much energy

Living only with renewables will be bad because we need energy to live; without energy people will die

RES are important because we will not have electricity or hot water without them

RES will be a lot of help because everything we do now involves the use of fossil fuels

If RES become cheaper than now then they will become relevant

I do not think that our lives can continue if fossil fuels run out as we cannot replace them completely by renewable energy sources

If your class/school would like to take part in these trials, please contact Pam Lewis or Russell Geake to obtain a copy of the resources. Assistance can also be provided for individual teachers or collectively at a Workshop or inset day.
