The major cost items are the

• solar panel
• static inverter
• battery pack (if stand alone application)
• installation on the roof
• connection to the grid

For the average domestic system, costs can be around € 6,000 per kWp installed, with most domestic systems usually between 2 and 3 kWp.

Grants

The electricity produced can be sold to the Utility at a fixed tariff decided by the Government at a rate of 0.3 € per kWh for standard PV and 0.55 € per kWh for BIPV. In addition, private individuals can receive a “tax credit” grant of 50% of the materials costs up to € 8,000 for a single family, while companies can use fiscal advantages.
